I highly suggest watching "Penn and Teller Bullsh*t" on organic foods.
HA! I'm the OP and I love Penn and Teller's BS. I am also really into organic and my husband has told me to watch this episode too (he doesn't care one way or the other but buys it anyway for me). We don't buy everything organic, just the things that I have read that have the most pesticides. Also I work in health policy, and childhood obesity is one of my issues, and I saw the episode on obesity they did a few seasons ago which amused me. They make some good points and I love that they challenge my views, but I don't think I can go back on the organic stuff now. I'm too much of a convert!!!
Not sure what you are referring to and how organic ties into obesity, but our family doesn't eat organic and none of us are even overweight. We do eat a lot of vegetables, eat dinner as a family each night and only use meat to flavor, rarely the main course. Most nights we bike ride or DH and I run while the kids bike ahead. We don't get fat because we don't eat too much and we are active.
