Sorry but even if you measure from the very tip of the property, which is blocked by a large black fence, the distance to 4710 North Chambliss Street, Alexandria is 1.0 miles.  The distance to an actual entrance is even farther.   It's a straight shot down Lincolnia, so there is really nothing to dispute. [/quote]
There will be no large fence around the shelter, the proposed site to the school property is less than a mile.  And half a mile to a day care and Catholic school where little kids are outside playing.  This is undisputed fact[/quote]

OK give me the exact longitude and latitude of the points you are measuring, and the distance.  I have measured it three times.  The property I was referring to was the school, which actually has a big black fence at that tip.  Fact.

There is no large black fence.  Route is shorter than a mile as they don't need to cut across Chambliss to get to Lincolnia.  Catholic day care and elementary school 1/2 mile and daycare academy less than a mile.  Development of residential homes in the 1-2 million range and across Lincolnia houses from 600-700s. So all soft targets for criminals.
