How far down the waitlist can one hope to get into Bridges?
Historically, Bridges has gone very deep into the WL. People could count on getting in with numbers in the 80s or 90s. The location and facility and multiple campuses was a turn off for many. That's very likely to change with the new building. The issues which held them back for so long are finally being addressed.
Yeah but location is on other side of town.
Bridges' new location is 1-2 miles from the current location, about as far from the Ft Totten metro as it is from the Petworth metro now.
It's still a 15-20 minute drive in AM. We know as we pass new Bridges every day from Petworth to our current school.
Yes and if you're already 15-20 minutes from the school, it adds a significant drive, and I think is also further from downtown. So for anyone not on that side of DC and/or who has a commute down town, the new location is less desirable (purely from a commute standpoint, not talking about facilities, etc). But that could be outweighed by people who are now closer to it, I suppose - though being on the edge of DC versus relatively central means fewer people are within the same distance. I just don't know how that plays out in terms of population interested in Bridges and their location.
Moves certainly have the potential to change to reflect their environs - see Cap City now vs. 10 years ago. Families who are happy will usually follow the school - see LAMB SD campus.
