The package was found somewhere in Lafayette Park, which is quite large and surrounded by a number of federal buildings.  Parks and streets are routinely shut down throughout the city because some absent-minded person left their lunch sitting on a park bench or put down a shopping bag and walked away because they became distracted by a phone call or email.  A bomb is neither a joking matter or an opportunity to score political points.  Congress devolves into a food fight when someone climbs over the White House fence and you think the Secret Serbice should just ignore a potential threat?  Guess what, a Texas middle school seems a pretty unlikely target in comparison to the "President's Park."  Once a goober always a goober.[/quote]
