He was distant as a father and husband. He made the unwise decision to take mentally ill people to a shooting range. His death was very ironic. I did not see him as a war hero.

We DO have veterans in this country who are true heroes on AND off the battlefield. People who have had to overcome much more than he ever did. I would much rather see a movie about these guys...

Untrue.  In the movie, he and his wife watched 9/11 events unfold together.  He met his wife while already training in the military.[/quote]
