There was an article in the New York Times not too long ago about how independent schools in New York give aid for families making up to 350,000 since the full tuition at places like Dalton is now over 40K.  New York is an expensive city.  You can argue about the fairness of this, but it is not unheard of to get aid at those incomes at the top schools in new york.[/quote]
