TJ in Fairfax had over 100 NMS.. why so many compared to MoCo magnet school?
4-5 times as many kids at TJ as in the Blair Magnet program.
This is key. Fairfax can serve and challenge more GT students than MoCo. Both force rank, obviously, MoCo just has a teeny yield it can accommodate. Too bad.
Virginia has TJ. MoCo has a over dozen magnet programs across multiple disciplines. Not at all comparable.
Go crunch helpful numbers: A) total students each grade in GR or magnet programs in MoCo and fairfax B) total students each grade in MoCo and fairfax A/B tells you how what % each county can appropriately challenge. Feel free to add how many students take the admit test. Also feel free to run the numbers for nyc ps, who gets in to Sty, Bronx science, etc,
