It IS a good salary. I am grateful to have a job with good benefits too.  I am a fed, as well,  and make around that.  I don't know too many women in my neighborhood pulling in $200,000.  And if they are, they don't see their kids much.[/quote]

Factor that in and you really don't see your kids much.  plenty of women making that much while paying for before and/or after care

It's a tough life, peeps.  And I highly doubt it's as glorious as some of you make it out to be.

I'll take my $90K; at least I'm home for pick up with summers off.

My commute is 20 minutes one way.

I have summers off - 8 weeks, plus winter and spring break AND plenty of other holidays.

I work in the school system but am no longer in the classroom.  It's great!  And I'd be making more had I not taken leave when my dad fell ill.
