[/quote] My spouse and I grew up in MA/NJ and now live in NC; When we first got here (Charlotte area) we were amazed at how many professional, sophisticated UMC / UC families were sending kids to all the in-state school. In our similar childhood towns (affluent, competitive) it was rare to go in-state. [/quote]
