Actually my kid says at his school, the kids get 30-45 mins a day of playing “educational” games while the teacher is reading with groups so no, it is NOT just the older grades. I went on a field trip with my niece from McNair ES and when we were walking through the school saw May kids on Chromebooks at their desks in groups. [/quote]

This may be during FIT time?  I believe schools are supposed to regroup kids by level during FIT time so they can get support or enrichment, but this does not seem to be enforced by MCPS, so instead a lot of schools just leave kids in their regular classroom for FIT time  and the classroom teacher often just sticks whoever she's not working with on Chromebooks.[/quote]
