I'm confused why there is not more public concern on this. Such an unusual crime for that part of town, no clear motive (robbery, etc.) and victim seemed to be a normal kid and not seem to be involved in anything shady. And the police hardly share anything but a grainy video a year later?
I mean...its not that unusual. Didn't this happen to another single man -- also lived alone -- in Arlington the year before? Can't remember his name but he lived in a high-rise.
Are you thinking of the man that had a son? I think that one made more since bc there was a woman or two women involved.
I thought he was too young (for this area) to have a kid? He was in his late 20s.
His HS on and off girlfriend of (9 years!!) was reported to have a lot of "sugar daddies" and his father was a rich federal contractor. He seemed to have zero enemies so I'm wonder if someone did this to hurt his father or the GF was involved and hired a hit because of some stupid reason like he wouldn't marry her or something. Things don't add up with this case at all. Also disturbing is the police actions or inactions on this case, waiting a whole year for the video of the person of interest (who is going is to remember seeing this guy masked in ballston before covid a year later in the mist of a worldwide pandemic?! They removed time stamps on the video (that makes it even harder to remember if you saw him or not), not releasing the full cause of death other then blunt trauma to the chest (blood on his hands, neck, and face) WHY if he wasn't stabbed? WHY was this called in as a "cardiac arrest" if there was blood all over him? So many very odd things about this case but the police is seemingly hindering NOT helping the investigation if they wanted eye witnesses accounts of him in the area. They also had to have video of how we left the area, car, bike metro ALL on film but none of it released. WHY? Their could be a car we could have looked out for or a bike. All and all this seems like a professional hit, tape over the backpack and shoes. He changed his shoes after the murder. Bleach. He got away with it. Screams a hit man to me.
Arlington is known for "you always know your killer." There's little in the way of random murders.
Except they have no suspect and there seems to be no one who came forward to report a person who matches that description which is all his parents asked for don't ask wether you think they can kill or not report anyone who fits that description.
