Liberals support law enforcement that are well trained, follow the law, and prioritize the preservation of life.  And take responsibility if they make a mistake.  What people don't like is thuggish behavior where human rights are trampled or circling the wagons to protect someone who clearly made a mistake, especially if that mistake caused injury or, worse, death to someone.
