[/quote] That is not going to fly in a county as liberal and progressive as Montgomery County. Also, a purely punitive and responsive approach does nothing in terms of prevention. Also, if you have a no tolerance policy, you still have to have a place to put and educate these kids as they are still legally entitled to a free, public education. I do think MCPS should be looking to bolster and improve Blair E. Ewing, so that the alternative school can take on more kids. MCPS also needs to be less shy about referring kids to alt school based on certain behavioral infractions. In theory, the revisions to the Student Code of Conduct allow MCPS to do that more easily now this school year.[/quote]
