Plants and legumes are also alive after ingestion and can excrete toxins and anti-nutrients like oxalates, tannins, and leptin  as a defense mechanism.

That’s why beans are soaked overnight to get rid of their skins because it’s an anti nutrient . A diet high in plants will eventually cause a decrease in calcium, iron, Vitamin D [/quote]
