It is not race related and independent of everything else. It is because they are behind in content knowledge, analysis, etc… due to coming from poorly performing and low resourced schools. They, as a race, also tend to have much higher truancy rates. They also have higher rates of trauma and poverty which affects performance in school. Factors above and such are related to poverty and low SES. [/quote]
