In order to achieve that, we need a strong curriculum. For K-8 there actually is a simple fix. It's called Core Knowledge, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, but it does require well-educated teachers. This might address the teacher quality issue as well, because poorly educated teachers don't want to teach world history, literature, etc.[/quote]
