You would be a happier person if you didn’t bean count like this.[/quote] I think it’s rude to attend a wedding without a gift! My wedding registry was (IMO) very reasonable: literally had items from $5 to $400, with the majority being in the $50-100 range. One of my DH’s cousins (who is a young student who really could’ve gone along with their family gift) got us a $10 item which we loved and were really touched by. It was honestly kind of hurtful to have some well-off friends come (with guests!) and not even bring a card. To me, it wasn’t about a cash grab or getting some expensive gift but the thought behind it. [/quote]
