In case you were wondering how Trump feels about Juneteenth, this is from his Truth (sic) Social account: Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Too many non-working holidays in America. It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
According to Wikipedia, the U.S. has among the fewest number of public holidays (11), the same number as the U.K. and Canada.
Public holidays are different from federal holidays. Haven’t you noticed that by now? When I worked for Lockheed Martin they had the best policy: office shutdown the last 7 days of the calendar year, all national public holidays off, 5-7 floating federal holidays to use as you & your family needed or celebrated, 21 PTO days, unlimited sick days, and all unused PTO days were kept until you left and you’d be paid out. Nothing to argue about, no one abused sick days, and everyone got their work done well and on time.
Did you have a point? There are every few state and local public holidays.
