It's a lack of pay and the notion that it is woman's work. It's the push from parents to go into stem fields.

I tbink "women's work" should be valued more. For women who are smart, nurturing, and kind with strong organizational skills, careers in nursing, teaching, social work, counseling, psychology etc can be a perfect fit and extremely rewarding over a lifetime.[/quote]
