This is very much and ncap mindset. Throw 35 kids in G2 and train them until there’s no tomorrow. 3 move up and find success. 20 stagnate. 5 get injured. 7 burnout and quit swimming. Call those who don’t make it lazy. [/quote]

Not every swimmer will make Gold 1 and that is just reality.  My swimmer didn’t move up until they had a Futures cut.  It is the National Team training level and only a small percentage make that.  These kids are on a different track than they rest.  That is reality and when you add kids to the group aren’t at that level and can’t make the intervals it hurts everyone. There is nothing wrong with Gold 2 except most parents seems to have the expectation their kids will be an elite swimmer.[/quote]
