Opinion polls only report what people polled think about something. They are unrelated to whether those thoughts are rational, justified, moral, ethical, have any basis in objective reality, or anything else. People are often ill-informed, biased, prejudiced, subject to propaganda, influenced by groupthink, or otherwise unreliable in their perceptions. So poll results on these kinds of topics are essentially of no value whatsoever.
Polls mean a lot actually, and this one shows that the American people are not happy with Israel’s actions. That matters because the US is Israel’s biggest supporter.
What if there was a poll asking how Gazans are perceived, and the results indicate they are viewed unfavorably for their failure to accept their own country when offered, their learned helplessness, attachment to grievance, corrupt government, and support for Hamas? Would that change anything? Of course not. Polls about perceptions like these are useless. The USG is not going to change policy towards any country or group based on the results. Maybe nice for sympathizers to say "Look! Some other people have a negative view of Israel!". But that means nothing in any practical sense.
