I think the bolded is probably right, but what a depressing state of affairs that we're even having to think about it. As an American, I'm proud of our relationship with Canada. It might be a glib way to say it, but y'all are our buddies. We've got an undefended border, because we're friends. We've fought together as allies. The idea that we're just going to, even non-seriously, start talking about annexing a country that was alongside us at D-Day? I don't even know what to do with that. [/quote]

Canadian here. I totally agree. Americans have been great friends to Canada. Sad to see what is happening. I lived in the US for 16 years. Americans are kind, generous, lovely people.[/quote]
