My husband is from Florida too and his parents and sister are trying to leave too. But there's literally a shrine to Trump in their town (Orlando exurb). More Confederate flags going up.
This thread is like a few people from a MAGA Rochester suburb insisting over and over again that all of NY state is ultra red full of MAGA homogenous country people and that the whole state is a cesspool to be avoided.
Here’s the difference, that would be false because the governor of NY is a Democrat as is both its senators, and the state has voted blue in presidential elections for some time. To say Florida is MAGA, on the other hand, would be correct, as it has twice given its presidential votes to Trump, has a super conservative governor and has been represented by Republican senators for years. Fiction v. Reality, thus your analogy fails.
By your own standards you are now MAGA since the US elected Trump.
Oh my, are you an alum of the University of Florida? This might be the most persuasive evidence in the whole thread about the quality of the education.
You can't have it both ways. Either reject the analogy or embrace it.
Dude, you still upset your NY state analogy was a bust? Let’s review. Florida is controlled by MAGA republicans, NY is controlled by democrats. No mention there of the political affiliation of any particular voter. If you want to continue with that logic, correct to say that the U.S. government is controlled by MAGA republicans, but not correct to say that I am a MAGA voter. See, easy as pie.
Keep up. This entire thread is posters pretending that all of FL is MAGA and "off" based on MAGA in power.
Nope, wrong again. Part of it is about Florida having a long history of attracting oddballs, no political affiliation attached. Another is about the Florida government being controlled by MAGA, and specifically Ron DeSantis, who would be responsible for covering any shortfall after federal budget cuts that affect the university, and has previously done things that affect the schools’s ability to offer certain curriculum. Yet another is the influx of MAGA voters during and after Covid that have increased the size of the Republican majority in Florida. You may take issue with the first, as it is opinion, but the other two statements are fact.
Plenty oddballs right here in the dmv
