There was absolutely NO way my 80+ MiL and 50+ developmentally disabled SiL could’ve managed this at home. No way. OTOH, my father has dementia, remains quite amiable, and is able to remain living at home though now with a near FT aide as he is a flight risk and no longer able to manage his ADLs. If he were not amiable, then it would probably be impossible for my mom to manage, especially if he were aggressive. [/quote] The difference is they can afford that.
