[/quote] No. Multiple studies (science of reading has multiple independent studies, not just one) say multiple elements are needed in any viable curriculum and that Phonics needs to be front and center. Mere systematic instruction is not sufficient - Calkins crap was systematic but it did not work. [/quote]
