This is one of the few places that I feel free to discuss atheism.  Being religious is the default position in the US, even though recent studies indicate that fewer people these days are religious.

What I mostly read is angry, combative people spewing misinformation and shouting "That's not rational!"

DP - Yes, correct, just like you can't prove Vishnu doesn't exist, or Leprechauns.  It's a preposterous requirement.  Which is why nearly no atheist will claim to be able to disprove the generic concept of the supernatural.

But there is no logical reason to believe in one, just as there is no logical reason to believe in Leprechauns.  And yes, your god and Leprechauns are exactly the same thing.  Sorry you don't like that.[/quote]
