That's a pretty rude thing to say to people who are going to the gym to get healthier. How do you expect them to get in shape? Theyre literally at the gym trying. No wonder people are self conscious going to the gym, with judgmental b****s like OP criticizing every one they see.
Guessing this is an old dude. My kids are very into going to the gym. Several of the men 40+ do not realize it’s creepy as shit to make compliments and comments to teenagers about their bodies when they are working out. Both kids have very little fat so they looked more toned and I guess jacked for DS than they probably are but both have had old dudes make comments to them.
What is going on with that? My dd goes to the gym almost every day and very often older men talk to her: sometimes they are rude and request a machine she is using, tell her she is doing x, y or z wrong. She is very clearly a teenager and not an adult. It's not appropriate to talk to her at all for middle aged men!
Did you go over gym etiquette with your dd before handing her a membership? Is she staying on a machine when she rests between sets instead of letting other gym goers work in? Does she know she should be using weights heavy enough to require rest, or is she staying same station for half an hour at a time? Is she using a bench without a spotter, or even as a place to leave her water bottle and phone? Does she know what good form looks like when using free weights and checking herself in the mirror to make sure she’s keeping it? Is she wiping down equipment when she’s done with it? If one guy talks to your daughter, maybe she’s just found the jerk. But if they’re all talking to her, maybe there’s something she needs talking to about. And don’t overlook the possibility that she thinks “form” is learned by watching 19 year old fitness influencers on TikTok. Because that kind of form will bring out all the jerks, even if they’re usually more quiet about it.
