Columbus Division of Police Press Release

On Thursday, October 3, at approximately 6:23 PM, Columbus Division of Police officers conducted a preliminary investigation in the 800 block of Cummington Rd. in regards to pieces of a rug found beneath the surface of the homeowner’s backyard. Officers utilized K-9 resources during this preliminary search. CPD held the scene overnight and the officers resumed the investigation on the morning of October 4, 2024. Investigators began digging at the site at approximately 9:00 AM and removed several small rug pieces from the ground. The pieces all tested negative for human or animal remains and, at this time, there are no plans for further testing.[/quote]
