There is just as wide variation in MLS Next as ECNL. So if we are going to make a statement make it accurate…The only notch above ECNL for college recruiting is Academy. Keep on whipping that tired mule.  The level of competition is 5x that of ECNL.  How many  MLS age group academies do ECNL teams square off against? Zero.

You can whip a mule all you want.  It won't work when tired.  Mules have an incredible sense of self preservation.  All whipping will do is get you a kick when they have the opportunity.  Mules have long memories and will get revenge.

Horses, on the other hand, will work until they drop. If the owner knows what is good for them, they will give it a rest when it's tired.
