Freshman got a 5 in AP Gov. Great for her first AP exam!
Our N.VA school district allows you to take AP GOV SENIOR year. Granted I know anyone can self study for an AP test, it is just a bit insane how different things are across the board for when certain classes are taught.
My freshman also got a 5. At their school, all 9th graders take AP Gov. iIt is crazy how different schools do things.
Basis? My kid got a 5 in AP Gov last year in 9th. This year in 10th, they got 5s in AP Calc, AP Chemistry, and AP European History, and a 4 in AP Lit.
What high school is offering AP Lit to a tenth grader? Did your kid take AP Lang first, in 9th grade then? The only path at Blair has kids doing AP Lit in 12th grade, I believe.
Basis. In 9th, my kid took Honors Lang and Honors Lit (2 class periods of English. Ugh). Then, in 10th, they took AP Lit. This year, they'll either take AP Lang or a post-AP Lit class.
This is what happens at a school that gets paid more when more students win, not paid more to reduce the achievement gap.
