My kid got a 5 in AP Gov last year in 9th.  This year in 10th, they got 5s in AP Calc, AP Chemistry, and AP European History, and a 4 in AP Lit.  [/quote]

What high school is offering AP Lit to a tenth grader?  Did your kid take AP Lang first, in 9th grade then?  The only path at Blair has kids doing AP Lit in 12th grade, I believe.[/quote]
Basis.  In 9th, my kid took Honors Lang and Honors Lit (2 class periods of English.  Ugh).  Then, in 10th, they took AP Lit.  This year, they'll either take AP Lang or a post-AP Lit class.  [/quote]

This is what happens at a school that gets paid more when more students win, not paid more to reduce the achievement gap. [/quote]
