If you don't plan on staying long-term right now, maybe rent a place for a few months and see how you like any particular area. And if/when you do decide to stay long-term, take a look at the potential tax situation - it may be better to become Florida residents by staying 6 months and a day every year. As for demographics, I really don't think you'll have issues in larger towns/cities. An interesting place you may want to look at is Babcock Ranch, in SWFL. It's not close to the beach but it is a solar town - and they suffered no damage or power outage after Hurricane Ian. [/quote]
