If I worked as a nurse or in food service, no I would not have them. But I work in an office and don't eat with my hands so don't see a problem. I bet a lot of you who  are so obsessed with chemicals used in acrylic nails don't have a problem with injecting botox into your face or using a plethora of other chemicals on your body. This is what people do on DCUM.  They discuss mundane topics, including nails.  If you are not up for that, you can move along.

Last time I checked, this was a thread about acrylic nails on teens.  Do you have a comment with regard to teens wearing nails and parents paying for that? No?  But here you are, a grown woman (I assume) who feels the need to derail the thread with your defense of your own nail wearing.  WTF?  Why are you even on this thread? Who is the person who has nothing better to do?

There is a difference between those of us confessing we find nails to be gross/unhygienic and those using words like "trashy".  The hygiene part is a legit discussion that goes beyond just appearance.[/quote]
