I  fear my DD going off campus and accidentally getting into a bad area without her knowledge. I am more comfortable with Penn (not that she is likely to get in) as I know Philly very well and could educate her on where she can and cannot go. [/quote]

Quite far. the NU campus and downtown Evanston in general is not terribly dangerous. Much safer than Hyde Park.[/quote]

Saying UChicago is in Hyde Park is really misleading. Half the campus is in Woodlawn. And you have to ride the bus, train, and walk around with residents of the exponentially more lawless neighboring neighborhoods. [/quote]
