“I'd like to put forward the following idea: at a certain point, the education you will receive at a top university will be equal in quality to that provided by its peers. In other words, WashU's instruction is just as good as Penn's and UMich's. To qualify, there are some exceptions. MIT is obviously a great school for engineering. UChicago is obviously a great school for economics.
WashU, contrary to whatever this sub wants you to believe, has elite programs in the social sciences and biomedicine.
But you will be taught the same content and read the same textbooks, whether you attend Yale or UCSD.
