Old data but decades ago I got the Banneker Key Scholarship vs acceptances at Penn, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon with very limited financial aid. I chose UMD obviously. Our family income was 85k and they expected my parents to shell out 22k, with 2 other younger kids still at home. I don't understand how these private colleges think that is reasonable. "Diversity" is not just about skin color and gender identity. (And I say this as a POC). [/quote]
