I don't have anything bad to say about GA.  I do agree that another league is helpful.  I don't want a monopoly.  But be real.  GA is far away from an equal league.  They are way behind.  This announcement will not help in the short term or even medium term.  top kids are 90% in ECNL.  That will continue.  [/quote]

Let me ask you a question...

Not even thinking about leagues or recruiting and you had a choice between a club that can get your kid into college. Or a club that can get your kid into college or they can play professionally. (if they're good enough) Which one would you choose?

Most people would choose the second option that allows for college or pro. This is what MLS Next provides. ENCL only provides a springboard for college.

ECNL not only needs to worry about the impact this membership will have in regards to GA rising ECNL will also need to contend with the Special Olympics and their US Soccer membership also announced alongside GA:
