Matthew 5:17 (“Do not think that I have come to abolish Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”) Jesus didn’t come to love everyone and tell everyone he loves them even if they sin. He came to offer salvation to sinners- all of us. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
This. Jesus offers all of us redemption from our sin. We all sin, every day, sometimes intentionally.
Like the people who judge others over who they love?
We are not judging. We are holding to Biblical beliefs
Excuses to judge others.
I’m sorry you feel so personally triggered by this. I am not judging your homosexual. I am saying that I am a sinner, as are you, and we both need the redemption of Jesus. Our specific sins are between us and God. And BTW, the laws that God gives us to live by are ultimately for our own good. Sin of any kind - including sexual- ultimately harms us.
Homosexuality doesn’t harm people.
People say their sin doesn’t harm people, because they want to continue to sin. Do people who commit adultery harm people? What about people who have sex before marriage? We might say they do not, but God says they do. We aren’t God and we don’t make the rules. If you have the opinion that homosexuality, adultery, and sex outside of marriage aren’t harmful, you don’t have to become a Christian. Find a religion that says those things are ok. Then you can do whatever you want and feel ok about yourself.
Again, you're saying homosexuality is a "sin" when Jesus never said this. Jesus did condemn sex outside of marriage, thus it's really clear that he thinks adultery and (probably) premarital sex are bad. But again, he didn't say homosexuality is a sin, and it's really an open question as to what he would have a said about a homosexual relationship within a marriage. If you need Biblical authority, you need to go pick on the divorcees and millennials living with their partners.
