Yes, I was a cradle Catholic, altar girl etc. I am very familiar with the excerpts from the Bible that are presented, out of context, during Mass. I stand by my assertion that in the Catholic tradition, sitting down and reading the Bible cover to cover (as I see in many other Christian religions) and reading the Word of God straight from The Book, have not been historically emphasized. So saying that something "is in the Bible" or "is the term used in the Bible" isn't really going to be a big influence for most Catholics.[/quote]
