I'd guess most 8th graders would choose Visi (or not) for reasons other than lacrosse.  Even for the best players, neither the coach nor the school will play a critical role in recruiting, so it probably does not really matter who the coach is.  [/quote]

Different poster, here's my observation from having twice been through the process of selecting a school from among the many options, sometimes it comes down to third or fourth level of importance considerations because the major considerations are a wash.  For Visi, some girls probably do choose it over others based on lacrosse considerations (friends from team there, know that they will be playing on a high achieving team) but not recruiting considerations, I hope.  Club is by far the most important and the recruit's own efforts are second.  School lacrosse is third at best (probably fourth behind academics, which of course school impacts). At the moment, KJ is probably the only local HS coach that might move the recruiting needle and it is probably only incremental.
