I think Democrats are at risk of losing Muslims and Hindus if you keep pushing the trans/gender identity issues to the forefront of their agenda. I myself am very liberal, but I know enough of my relatives/friends to understand that progressives need to be *practical*, and focus on the issues that impact the most number of people - and that's NOT LGBTQ issues. My friends/relatives want the party to push better health coverage, improve public education, ban guns, and invest in the green economy, first and foremost. And if you push other things (introducing a queer friendly curriculum in elem, expanding abortion in the 2nd trimester for minors, etc), you are just going to continue to lose them.
