There are no elementary magnets so that person was clearly talking about 5th graders going in to middle school magnet open houses.

Yes, I have had two kids in middle school magnets and their experience isn’t how you described. But my kids aren’t braggy and didn’t want to offend anyone who didn’t get in. Even in CES the kids were unaware of uninterested in the magnet process - it just want something they were following. I was surprised - I asked both kids when they got in, did anyone talk about it at school today and they both said no (different years).[/quote]
