If legacy goes, so will a great deal of alumni donations. That funding is useful. I'm sure all the schools are doing careful calculations over potential lost alumni donations. It was was easy for Hopkins to announce the end of legacy because Hopkins has low levels of alumni satisfaction and donor rates, so they had less to lose. But for a school like Kenyon or Bates, I'm sure it is a different story. They need the money. [/quote]
