The real threat to Israel is internal. By 2050 Israel is projected to grow from 9.2 million to 16 million with Orthodox Jews growing to a 1/4 of the population. The orthodox women are averaging 6.7 children and as a result the population is growing twice as fast as other Jews population.

This means Israel will need more land and have a more right wing religion government. Remember many of the orthodox live off the state and do not have to serve in the military.

It also means more and more conflicts with the US. Israel will become more right wing and take more land for growth. The US just does not support that and will not support an ultra conservative religious state.

Also climate change has resulted in lower rain fall for the past 30 years. Israel is already pumping ground water faster than it can be replaced. The projection sea level rise shows lost of of coast line. [/quote]
