Annandale had like 3 suicides in a 6 month period in the late 80s; then just a few here and there.

By 1988 Annandale just had a pure violence problem that continues to this day.
I went to AHS and the fights at school were one thing, but the fights off campus were horrific.

I had two classmates get their jaws wired shut in the same week, another got their back broken in a fight in the same quarter.

Those were just fights that happened on four mile run off campus.  Then later in the 90s there was the whole thing with kid getting his arm cut off by a machete.  And obviously Annandale can’t have evening football games due to the fights.
