Again, no one cares about US club lax as that has no bearing on high school glax, since the HS teams are made up of so many other players from all different lax backgrounds. Everyone keeps saying Oakton is the team to beat, not a believer. They are overrated and their head coach doesn't really understand the game and how to actually coach and make adjustments. His ignorance will be their downfall. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say their will be some very disappointed teams that think they are the favorite by other programs that are going to pull some upsets.
I agree with you on Oakton. Their season will ride on how far their Rhode Island commit can take them. Their JMU commit does not play a disciplined game and if the refs are calling good games she will rack up offensive fouls and yellows all season. I do see Oakton being in the mix though in 6A, which seems to be average across the board this year. It sounds like Yorktown will be missing at least two of their better players this season, so I think they will come back to the pack. Battlefield has an easier road to states, but their players will carry the weight of being the hunted this year. With traditional 6A programs they have scheduled having down years Battlefield will be expected to win those games. It will be interesting to see how the team handles situations where they will gain little recognition for the wins and a lot of criticism for any losses. I do not see a clear cut favorite in 6A right now, but maybe one will start to emerge by early April.
Some crazy and clueless parents out there. Oakton's best player is the JMU commit. The Rhode island player is good but not elite. Battlefield talk needs to stop until they beat someone outside of their weak region.
You mean the crazy and clueless parents who’s daughters have played with each. Got it.
The battlefield talk stops only because their posts keep getting deleted. What don't they want you to know????????
