It's a terrible thing to see your child grappling with the idea that there's a huge portion of the country that thinks he's less deserving of rights or life just because of which gender he identifies as. I feel like the upcoming discussions/hate speech that's going to come from the shooter's gender identity is twisting the knife and I hate that this is going to be the reality throughout the investigation and trial.

Transphobes are vile people, just like every other bigot, homophobe, racist, and intolerant person.  That's what's hurting children, not books or drag queens. [/quote]
