I'm trying to manage my expectations about how long 12 pounds will take with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Years all coming up, ha. My App tells me I will have it in early January (I've been averaging about a pound a week for a while), but those three holidays are going to add a bit of time I think!
I actually think this is the best time to focus and set good habits. You’ll be tested a lot, but think of how much better you’ll feel in January having met your goal! One Thanksgiving meal or a couple drinks on New Year’s isn’t going to stall your progress - but allowing yourself to eat candy for a few weeks definitely will (ask me how I know 😂). Just don’t give up because it’s the holiday season is my point I guess. Outside of those few days you can stay diligent and come into 2023 feeling amazing!
How much candy is ok to eat really? I've had about 5 toffees and 5 ginger snap cookies today for eg - seems that I'm still losing weight. So is this okay to be doing? It's much less junk than I used to eat. I seen posts here that say NO snacks at all. What do you think?
For me personally, I can’t have any candy. If I have one piece, it’s like I lose control and want 10 pieces immediately. It’s honestly easier to avoid it altogether than to battle myself to stop once I’ve started. And now that I’ve avoided it for so long it’s second nature. You may have a different personality type or better willpower - so try to add in moderate amounts of sweets you love and see how it goes! If it were me I would save my sweet tooth for something special like my favorite baklava or key lime pie over a few Reese’s cups but everyone has their vices.
