Not a single Stanford admissions officer today denied admission to Jews in the 1950s. Therefore, an apology is meaningless. They can't "take responsibility" for something for which they were not responsible. I am very definitely teaching my kids that there is no such thing as historical blood guilt. They are in no way responsible for any crime committed by members of their nation or ethnic group long before they were born, they have no obligation to apologize, and they must reject any efforts to make them feel guilty (not least because this is always part of an effort to shake the down for money).[/quote]
