Hi, the fellow gallstone poster! Did you do your weight loss under any kind of doctor supervision? My initial weight was way more than yours, i am 5'8" and 178 now, down from 190, i have to lose at least 10 more pds. I am just using an app and never consulted any dietitian or such. Any advice as to how not to feel so hungry? I tried a boiled egg a day just when it gets too bad, but it made me constipated. I cannot eat fruit because of fructose and fatty liver connection. I used to eat 3-4 honeycrisps a day.
I think someone answered this on my behalf, which is funny. But Im' the other 53 yr old with gallstones. I didn't consult a doctor or follow any method other than changing the way I ate. I knew I was eating badly. I would have 2 large croissants with jelly inside for breakfast some days. That is like 800 calories. I started to look at what I was eating in terms of totals and then decided I'd aim for 1200-1500 per day. Half an avocado is 100, a baby bell cheese is 70, a packet of pistachios is 120, a piece of cooked peppered salmon is 240 etc. I stopped adding cream to family meals, or butter to mashed potato and have smaller portions of those meals. Like 1/3 of what I'd normally eat. If I am hungry I'll have half a banana or a decaf with low fat milk. So long as each meal is enough, I don't normally get hungry in between. The mistake I made once or twice was to have a tiny lunch of only about 200 calories and I was very hungry before dinner. That was unbalanced and didn't help so I don't do that any more.
