It is really quite uncommon that someone with a law degree and 10 years of experience in Manhattan makes 40K.  It's, like, unheard of.  This was my starting salary out of grad school in 2001, in a humanities major.  Something is fishy.[/quote]

My starting salary in Manhattan in 2000 with a degree from u of Chicago was 27k. This was at Bozell, a large marketing firm. [/quote]
